Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions at Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards 2020. We are constantly adding most asked question to this page so if you have a question and don’t see your answer, don’t hesitate to email us at  hello@berlinoliveoil.com

There is NO restriction on the number of categories each producer chooses to compete.

There is NO MINIMUM production requirement that each producer should meet in order to participate in the competition. However, if a producer has minimum quantity of 1000 kilos or less of a retail labelled product, in such case it can compete to any of the six (6) basic categories, but it will fall into the group and labelled on the awards as small producers.

The samples must be submitted on the exact same retail packaging. Please note that for the sensory analysis, the olive oil samples are blind tested by the judges.

You can choose to compete to any of the following categories or in all of them with one or more of your brands:

#3 Flavour Olive Oil Awards

#4 High Polyphenols Olive Oil Awards

#5 Innovation Olive Oil Awards

#6 Design & Packaging Olive Oil Awards

  • Participants should be registered to the competition by May 06th 2020
  • Registrations will not be accepted after the deadline has been reached.

All the olive oil samples must be sent to Berlin, Germany by the May 06th,  2020.

After the registration & the payment completed, we will send the relevant documents, shipping labels and invoices.

In case that the olive oil  sample has not been send on time the product will not be eligible for judging

For each competition category you must submit three (3) olive oil samples.

For expample : (3) bottle of 250ml each or (3) bottle of 500ml each or (3) bottle of 1Kg each

The samples must be submitted on the exact same retail packagingPlease note that for the sensory analysis, the olive oil samples are blind tested by the judges.

The participants must ensure that all theolive oil samples will be send in safe and suitable packaging. In case of a damaged item, the participant must resend the samples strictly within the deadlines.

The competition will be held in Berlin, Germany between the May 09th -12th, 2020. 

The Competition Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards 2020, goes remotely due to the latest development with the Pandemic.

Any information regarding amendments of the competition dates will be provided via email.

The entry fees to the competition are the followings :

  • Early Registration: € 200 (from October 10th  2019 to January 31st, 2019) per brand for any award category 
  • Standard Price: € 250 (From February 1st, 2020 to April 30th,  2020) for the first Brand Registration.

Note: For any additional product the cost is € 100  for any of the six (6) categories of the Awards.

Any amendments to the registration deadlines will be informed to clients via email.

  • Registering to the competition via the Online Registration System ORS form the payment must be made at the same time of filling the online application via a secure online payment system. visa/mastercard/americanexpress
  • Making the registration via the fillable application form, the payment must be made within five (5) working days after the submission of the application. If the payment has not been made in the set time limit the product will automatically be excluded from the judging list.

The results will be published on the berlinoliveoil.com and will also be shared to affiliate media partners.

The full sensory report will be sent directly to each of the contender via email.

  • Promotional Stickers will be provided to the competition winners available to be purchased online on May 14th, 2020. The promotional stickers will only be allowed to be placed on the specific awarded olive oil brand and the same year of harvest. Licence will be provided.


  • The winners who are interested to purchase our trophy and stickers, information for the order will be available on May 14th, 2020.
